The Organization for Development & Peace (ODP) is a community-rooted, nonprofit organization serving the people of Pakistan since 2003. Born from a belief in dignity, equality, and peaceful coexistence, ODP works hand-in-hand with local communities to create opportunities, strengthen resilience, and build a society where every person — regardless of faith, gender, or background — can thrive.

ODP’s story is one of people — their struggles, their courage, and their hope.
In 2002, a small group of committed individuals began working informally with marginalized families, flood-affected communities, and youth seeking direction. Their work quickly grew into a movement grounded in compassion and justice. In 2003, ODP was officially registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, marking the beginning of a new chapter.

A Timeline of Growth, Service, and Impact.
ODP began as a small community initiative responding to local needs. In 2003, it was formally registered and began expanding its work in peacebuilding, human rights, and community development.
ODP became known for its rapid, compassionate response to disasters — including floods, earthquakes, and displacement crises. UNOCHA recognized ODP’s assessment work during the 2010 floods.
ODP formed Peace Committees, Human Rights Action Committees, and youth groups across Punjab. Interfaith dialogues, democratic engagement programs, and women-led initiatives became central pillars of our work.
ODP trained 160+ NGOs/CBOs, expanded women’s livelihood programs, and deepened youth engagement for peace and democracy. Our outreach grew to 16 districts, with plans to expand into Sindh and Balochistan.
